Plane Prediction

Engine of the future from the past?

Jets are very expensive, hard to repair, and fuel hogs. However the old propelller planes are very fuel efficient. Pretty soon we might be kickin' it "ol skool" on a prop.

Boeing should fire up some of its old models. People want small fuel efficient airplanes, not big flying dinosaurs that fly half empty. Many airlines are in trouble due to high fuel prices on jet fuel which is similar to a high grade of keroscene.

Our future is in small fuel efficient cars and planes. As fuel prices rise the steam ship might be brought back. Coal is a lot cheaper than oil, so it is full steam ahead on steam ships. The future is coal, and USA is the Saudi Arabia of coal.

Who would have guessed that the future was steam engines not search engines. And that a smoky old steam ship woul replace the jet? Eventually when coal runs out we might set sail on a sail.

We see a world where the old turboprop from the 50's and 60's will probably make a comeback soon and finally the piston engine propeller planes from the 40's will be back. The future is funny - old is new.
