| Use a small space heater to heat certain areas of the house while the bulk of the house is cold (approx 50 F or 10 C ). Not too cold because the pipes might freeze. Also keep the heat low while you are sleeping or at work. Have the heat come on an hour before you wake up. Heat up the bathroom and the kitchen. |

In the summer time it is air conditioning that eats up your
electricity.
Part of the problem is that electricity you use for cooking and for electricity for light creates heat which the air conditioner must remove. By using ecobulbs or springbulbs CFL - compact florescent lights you can decrease your consumption of electricity and take a load of the air conditioner because since they are more efficient they produce less heat. There are many ways to decrease you monthly bill and help the environment at the same time. The springbulb is just one. |
